Understand analytic metrics

This article explains the metrics in BurgerShop’s Analytics reports, so you can understand your store’s performance and come up with new business plans to improve sales.

1- Your sales performance

  • Order/Items: The average value of items per order
  • Conversion rate: The percentage of visitors to your website that complete a desired goal (a conversion) out of the total number of visitors.

The formula of this metric: Conversion rate = total order/ total view*100

  • Revenue: The total profits (including shipping fee and taxes) from successful payments of your store

The formula of this metric: Revenue = price*qty + shipping fee + tax + processing fee – discount

  • Profit: Profits from all your successful orders

The formula of this metric: Profit = Total revenue buyer – Transaction Fees- Fulfillment cost

Note: if you don’t use BurgerPrints to fulfill, fulfillment cost =0

  • AOV: an e-commerce metric that tracks the average dollar amount spent whenever a customer places an order on a website or application

The formula of this metric: Average order value =Total revenue/ total order

2- Conversion funnel

  • View product: Number of sessions in which customers viewed products in your store.
  • Add to cart: Number and percentage of sessions in which customers added one or more items to their shopping carts. 
  • Checkout: Number and percentage of sessions in which customers added one or more items to their shopping carts, proceeded to the checkout, and performed an action (for example, a key press or mouse click)
  • Complete order: Number and percentage of sessions in which customers added one or more items to their shopping carts, proceeded to the checkout, and then purchased the items. This amount is usually smaller than the Checkout amount because some customers leave checkout without buying anything.
