How to use the Freeship Threshold on your store

The Free Ship Threshold feature allows you to automatically offer free shipping when a customer’s order reaches a certain value. It’s a great way to increase average order value and boost conversions.

Step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Turn on Freeship Threshold in Shipping Settings

1. Go to Admin> Store Channel > Theme > Custom theme > Theme Setting > Freeship Threshold tab
2. Toggle Enable Freeship Threshold to turn it on.
3. Set your minimum order value for free shipping to apply (e.g. $50).
4. Click Save.

Step 2: Create a “Shipping Fee – Automatic” promotion

💡 This promotion acts as the engine that powers the free shipping logic. Without it, the threshold setting won’t trigger any free shipping.

Example Setup

• You set Freeship Threshold = $50
• You create an automatic promotion: Shipping Fee with Minimum purchase amount =50 
• When a customer places an order with subtotal = $50 → system automatically applies free shipping.

What your customers will see

– When cart value is below threshold:
“Add $X more to get free shipping!”
– When threshold is reached:
“You’ve unlocked free shipping!”
