Understand Analytic Metrics

This article explains the metrics in BurgerShop’s Analytics reports, helping you understand your store’s performance and develop new business strategies to boost sales.

A. Your Sales Performance

  • Order/Items: The average number of items per order.
  • Conversion Rate: The percentage of visitors who complete a desired goal (a conversion) out of the total number of visitors.
    • Formula: Conversion rate = (total orders / total views) * 100
  • Revenue: The total profits (including shipping fees and taxes) from successful payments.

    • Formula: Revenue = (price * quantity) + shipping fee + tax + processing fee – discount

    Profit: Profits from all your successful orders.

    • Formula: Profit = Total revenue – Transaction fees – Fulfillment cost
    • Note: If you don’t use BurgerPrints for fulfillment, fulfillment cost = 0

    Average Order Value (AOV): Tracks the average dollar amount spent per order.

    • Formula: Average order value = Total revenue / total orders

    B. Conversion Funnel

    • View Product: Number of sessions where customers viewed products in your store.
    • Add to Cart: Number and percentage of sessions where customers added one or more items to their shopping carts.
    • Checkout: Number and percentage of sessions where customers proceeded to checkout and performed an action (e.g., a key press or mouse click).
    • Complete Order: The number and percentage of sessions in which customers completed a purchase. This amount is usually smaller than the Checkout amount because some customers leave checkout without buying anything.

    By understanding these metrics, you can better analyze your store’s performance and make informed decisions to drive growth and increase sales.
