Language & Currency Settings

The Language & Currency setting controls whether language and currency selectors are displayed on your storefront.

These selectors help customers browse your store in their preferred language and view prices in their preferred currency. You can choose where the selectors appear, such as in the header or footer.

Note
The Language & Currency setting in Theme Editor only controls where the selectors are displayed on your storefront. To add or manage more languages and currencies, you need to open the Language & Currency Converter app

Access Language & Currency settings

You can manage language and currency display settings from the Theme Editor.

Steps:

  1. Log in to your BurgerShop admin.
  2. Go to Online store.
  3. Select Themes.
  4. Open the theme you want to edit.
  5. Click Customize.
  6. In the left sidebar, click General setting.
  7. Select Language & Currency

From this section, you can control where the language and currency selectors appear on your storefront.

Understand Language & Currency settings

The Language & Currency section includes two main groups:

CurrencyControls whether the currency selector appears in the header or footer

These settings are useful when your store sells to customers from different regions or countries.

Show language selector in the header

The header language selector lets customers switch language from the top navigation area of your store.

Steps:

  1. Go to General setting > Language & Currency.
  2. Under Language, turn on Show in header.
  3. Review the storefront preview.
  4. Click Save.

When enabled, the language selector appears in the header area, depending on your header layout.

Show language selector in the footer

You can also display the language selector in the footer.

Steps:

  1. Go to General setting > Language & Currency.
  2. Under Language, turn on Show in footer.
  3. Review the footer preview.
  4. Click Save.

This option is useful if you want to keep the header clean but still allow customers to change language.

Show currency selector in the header

The currency selector lets customers view prices in their preferred currency.

Steps:

  1. Go to General setting > Language & Currency.
  2. Under Currency, turn on Show in header.
  3. Review the storefront preview.
  4. Click Save.

When enabled, the currency selector appears in the header area.

Show currency selector in the footer

You can also display the currency selector in the footer.

Steps:

  1. Go to General setting > Language & Currency.
  2. Under Currency, turn on Show in footer.
  3. Review the footer preview.
  4. Click Save.

This gives customers another place to change currency without making the header too crowded.

Manage languages and currencies in the app

To add, publish, or manage languages and currencies, open the Language & Currency Converter app.

Steps:

  1. Go to General setting > Language & Currency in Theme Editor.
  2. Click Go to App.
  3. BurgerShop will open the Language & Currency Converter app in your admin.
  4. From the app, you can manage:
    • Store languages
    • Published languages
    • Default language
    • Currencies
    • Currency display settings

For example, in the app’s Languages tab, you can view the default language and add additional languages for your store.

Important
If a language or currency has not been added or enabled in the app, turning on the selector in Theme Editor may not display the expected options on the storefront.

Save and publish changes

After updating display settings, save your changes.

Steps:

  1. Click Save in the top-right corner.
  2. Preview the storefront.
  3. Click Publish if you want to apply the updated theme to your live store
