Show Customer Account and Search Bar in the Header

The Customer Account icon and Search Bar help customers navigate your store more easily. Customers can use the search feature to find products faster, and they can use the account icon to access their customer account.

In BurgerShop Theme Editor, these settings are managed under General setting > Other settings, not directly inside the Header Bar section. This guide explains where to find and enable them.

Why these settings are not in Header Bar

Although the Search Bar and Customer Account icon appear in the storefront header, their visibility is controlled from General setting > Other settings.

This is because these options are global storefront settings. When enabled, they can affect how the header displays across different pages, not only the homepage.

Access Other settings

To enable the Search Bar or Customer Account icon, go to the Theme Editor’s general settings.

Steps:

  1. Log in to your BurgerShop admin.
  2. Go to Online store.
  3. Select Themes.
  4. Open the theme you want to edit.
  5. Click Customize.
  6. In the left sidebar, click General setting.
  7. Select Other settings.

In this section, you can manage display options such as breadcrumb, search bar, customer account, and scroll to top

Show the Search Bar

The Search Bar allows customers to search for products directly from the storefront header.

Steps:

  1. In Theme Editor, go to General setting.
  2. Click Other settings.
  3. Find Search bar.
  4. Turn on Show search bar.
  5. Check the header preview to confirm that the search icon or search bar appears.

Depending on your selected header layout, the search feature may display as a full search bar or as a search icon.

Tip
If you want a larger search field in the header, review your Header Bar layout. Some layouts display search more prominently than others.

Show the Customer Account icon

The Customer Account icon allows customers to access their account area from the storefront header.

Steps:

  1. In Theme Editor, go to General setting.
  2. Click Other settings.
  3. Find Customer account.
  4. Turn on Show customer account.
  5. Check the header preview to confirm that the account icon appears.

After this option is enabled, the customer account icon will display in the header area.

Note
The customer account icon only controls the display of the account shortcut in the storefront header. Make sure your store settings and customer account flow are properly configured before launch

Preview the Header

After enabling these options, preview the header on both desktop and mobile.

Steps:

  1. Use the device icons at the top of the Theme Editor.
  2. Select desktop view.
  3. Check that the Search Bar and Customer Account icon display correctly.
  4. Select mobile view.
  5. Confirm that the header still looks clean and easy to use.

If the header looks crowded, you can adjust the Header Bar layout or simplify your navigation menu.

Save and publish changes

After turning on the Search Bar or Customer Account icon, save your changes.

Steps:

  1. Click Save in the top-right corner.
  2. Review the storefront preview.
  3. Click Publish if you want to apply the changes to the live theme
