Enable or Disable Countdown Timer on Product Pages

The Countdown Timer, also called Countdown Clock, lets you display a countdown message on the product detail page. This feature can help create urgency and encourage customers to complete their purchase sooner.

In BurgerShop Theme Editor, you can turn the countdown timer on or off, choose where it appears, and customize the text shown next to the timer.

What is the Countdown Timer?

The Countdown Timer is a product page element that displays a running countdown near the product information area.

Depending on your settings, it can appear:

• Under the product price
• Above the Buy now button

Example display:

00 : 19 : 36 : 53 left to buy

Note
The Countdown Timer is a display feature in the product page theme settings. It helps create urgency, but it does not automatically change product price, inventory, discount, or checkout rules.

Access Countdown Timer settings

You can manage the Countdown Timer from the Theme Editor.

Steps:

1. Log in to your BurgerShop admin.
2. Go to Online store.
3. Select Themes.
4. Open the theme you want to edit.
5. Click Custom theme or Customize.
6. In the page selector at the top, choose Product detail.
7. In the left sidebar, open Sections.
8. Under Main content, click Other information.
9. Find the Countdown timer setting.

Enable the Countdown Timer

Turn on the Countdown Timer if you want the countdown clock to display on product pages.

Steps:

1. Go to Product detail > Sections > Other information.
2. Find Countdown timer.
3. Turn on the toggle.
4. Choose where the timer should appear.
5. Edit the timer text if needed.
6. Click Save.

After saving, the countdown timer will appear on product detail pages based on your selected position.

Disable the Countdown Timer

Turn off the Countdown Timer if you do not want to show urgency messaging on product pages.

Steps:

1. Go to Product detail > Sections > Other information.
2. Find Countdown timer.
3. Turn off the toggle.
4. Click Save.

After saving, the countdown timer will no longer display on product detail pages.

Choose the timer position

The Position setting controls where the countdown timer appears on the product page.

Available options

Steps:

1. Enable Countdown timer.
2. Under Position, select:
   • Under price
   • Above “Buy now”
3. Review the product page preview.
4. Click Save.

Recommendation
Use Above “Buy now” if you want customers to notice the timer before taking action. Use Under price if you want the product information area to look more compact.

Edit countdown text

The Text field controls the label displayed with the countdown timer

Steps:

1. Enable Countdown timer.
2. Find the Text field.
3. Enter the message you want to display.
4. Review the preview.
5. Click Save

Set text position

The Text position setting controls whether the text appears before or after the countdown timer.

Available options

Steps:

1. Enable Countdown timer.
2. Under Text position, select Front or Back.
3. Review the preview.
4. Click Save.

Preview and save changes

After changing Countdown Timer settings, preview the product page before publishing.

Steps:

1. In Theme Editor, switch to Product detail.
2. Review the countdown timer position and text.
3. Use the desktop and mobile preview buttons.
4. Confirm that the timer is easy to read.
5. Click Save.
6. Click Publish if needed.
